1 yr MN Siberian Longhair with acute abdominal pain that has resolved, chronic diarrhea x 2 months, recent blood work WBC 23K, 7K lymphocytes, 1.5K monocytes, FELV/FIV pending (was negative at adoption). Normal chemistry. Concerned about hypoechoic subcapsular rim bilaterally. Lymph nodes were plump. Ddx FIP, lymphoma, other? What would you recommend as next step/sampling?

Comments
Associated with AKI, trauma, FIP, early lymphoma, bacterial nephritis..
With normal renal function AKI unlikely.
Trauma needs to be based on history.
With the prominent lymph nodes FIP, and early lymphoma both possibilities; bacterial nephritis less likely.
FNA of kidneys and lymph nodes for cytology and culture.
As always, thank you so much!
