9 yr MN Ragdoll with mild inappetence and weight loss. Labs SDMA 45, BUN 90, creat 5.7. Should have included an image of left kidney which was small, 2.7 cm, lumpy capsule and hyperechoic cortex. I did see Ragdolls listed for polycystic kidney disease, but wanted to be sure I am not making a false assumption.

More consistent with hydronephrosis than polycystic kidney disease with minimal normal renal tissue evident on these images. Most likely dealing with obstructive uropathy.
Thank you, Dr. Lobetti. Can you coach me on what makes polycystic disease less likely from the appearance? Since it is unilateral, does this make it also less likely to be polycystic?
I guess if owners on board, CT and subcutaneous ureteral bypass?
Dealing with a large fluid filled kidney rather than multiple cysts of varying sizes and usually bilateral.
Needs a bypass but not sure how much viable renal tissue there is.
